The Needle Tower and Vancouver

Look, it's the Needle Tower! Ummm...that would be the Space Needle, Paul.

What little I saw of Vancouver - a view from my hotel room.

Taking a stroll in the evening brought me by this piece of art.

Happy 30th Birthday Liz!

Today is Elizabeth's birthday. Last night we partied like we were 29!

I'm going to be an aunt again...

Brad & Rachel found out today they are expecting a girl (assuming the doctor's right - he's 99% sure). She should arrive the beginning of June.

If All My Years Were Summer

If all my years were summer,
could I know what the Lord means
by His “made white as snow?”

If all my days were sunny,
could I say “In His fair land,
He wipes tears away?”

If we were never weary,
could I keep close to my heart,
“He gives his loved ones sleep?”

Were no griefs mine,
might I not come to deem
the eternal life as a baseless dream?

My winter and my tears
and weariness, even my griefs
may be His way to bless.

I call them ills,
yet they can surely be
nothing but love that shows
my Lord to me.

Karm & Boys

Saturday morning I had breakfast with a roommate from college and her two boys.
She only lives about 30 minutes from me, but it's been almost 2 years since we've seen each other.

Alex thought my name was Flandy and here he is styling in Flandy's glasses.

Ty pretending he's a cat.

After getting together, Karmen was following me on the interstate when she called me saying that her rear window had shattered - don't know if it was the cold or if something hit it... We pulled over at the next exit and I pulled off the glass that was about to fall off anyway, then we did a pretty tape job. Don't know if it helped, but it felt like the right thing to do. She at least got home okay. Crazy.
